Back when I felt I was " a victim", it was easy to stay stuck.

Because being "wronged" made me RIGHT.

I honestly believed I couldn't get the cop job I wanted because of minority hiring policies.

Because I was a white guy - and because I didn't have military experience, because I didn't have boops, because I didn't have connections.

I was simply repeating what everyone else was saying.

I was totally denying the truth about me.

I was making it about "them".

And I was making life hell.
 

I stopped thinking about what I wanted.

I stopped thinking about why I couldn't have it.

I stopped FEELING BAD about myself, my circumstance...

I even stopped BEATING MYSELF UP for being in a shit state before.
